Rabies Vaccine PGD

The news today that a woman in her 50's had just come back from her travels from South East Asia with Rabies is horrifying. See guardian article 05-2012. As rabies is so uncommon in the UK when symptoms emerged doctors did not recognise it until she visited her third at UCH hospital. They immediately recognised it, but to late, she died later that day in hospital.

If this woman would have recognised the risk of rabies in South East Asia she would have realised that coming to a travel clinic before her travels a must. Having a pharmacy PGD with appropriate marketing material may have saved this woman life.
