Other sources of revenue UK Pharmacy

The new PSNC negotiated "Pharmacy Interim Agreement" shows that prescription reimbursement has fallen to 58.2p per item and generic medicine reimbursement prices (Category M) has fallen by £72.5 million per quarter. There are quite a few interpretations of this, some think it will result in a 20% reduction in UK pharmacy income, others recon that this will slash £35,000 in profit from the average pharmacy. This will effectively put may pharmacies into the red, unless they are owner manager pharmacies where the main financial hit will come in the form of reduced "wages" from the NHS.
