Lariam PGD

Lariam contains mefloquine which can be used for chloroquine resistant malaria. It is a useful antimalarial in a travel clinics arsenal as it only needs to be taken once a week. This is useful for poorly compliant patients who have a history of forgetting to take their medicines every day. The greatest downside to any quinine derivate such as mefloquine is that it should not be used in epileptics and patients with psychological issues, always consult the PGD before supplying the medicine.
