Malarone PGD

Malarone is now available from Patientgroupdirection.com authorised pharmacies across the UK. This PGD allows patients to safely access Malarone and Malarone Paediatric without the need for a prescription.

Malarone is one of the most popular anti-malarials as it is only taken one to two days before entering a malarious area and then for one week after leaving. In comparison to other anti-malarials it has a lower side effect profile and is generally well tolerated. The only downside is that it is quiet pricey, where Lariam would cost you around £25 for one week, Doxycycline around £10, Malarone can cost upwards of £40! This is not because of greedy pharmacists making lots of money, it is drug companies which create a substantial cost which, unfortunately the pharmacist has to pass on to the patient.
